Sustainable Seas: The Future of Canadian Yachting
As stewards of the world’s longest coastline, Canadian boaters have a unique responsibility to protect our waters. At Holimood, we are committed to ‘Green Boating’ practices that ensure the beauty of spots like Desolation Sound and the Thousand Islands remains for generations.

The ‘Leave No Trace’ Philosophy
When anchoring in pristine areas like British Columbia’s Marine Parks, the goal is to leave the environment exactly as you found it. This includes strictly adhering to Holding Tank Regulations. Discharging black water (sewage) within 3 nautical miles of land is illegal in Canada and carries heavy fines. Our yachts are equipped with high-capacity treatment systems to ensure compliance.
Eco-Conscious Provisioning
We encourage our guests to minimize single-use plastics. Many of our premium charters now provide filtered water stations and reusable glassware. If you are bringing your own supplies, opt for canned beverages over plastic bottles, as aluminum is more efficiently recycled.
Wildlife Etiquette

Whether it’s whales in the Salish Sea or loons in Ontario, maintaining a respectful distance is vital. Our captains follow strict ‘Slow Zones’ to prevent acoustic disturbance to marine life and to minimize wake erosion on sensitive shorelines.
Fuel Efficiency and Solar
Many of our newer catamarans in the 2026 fleet utilize solar arrays to power onboard electronics (lights, music, refrigeration), reducing the need to run generators while at anchor. This creates a quieter, more peaceful experience for you and a cleaner environment for the ocean.
